President Yoon Directs Maximum Rescue Efforts Following Deadly Car Accident in Seoul

SEOUL — In response to a tragic car accident in downtown Seoul that resulted in at least nine fatalities, President Yoon Suk Yeol has ordered a full-scale emergency response to aid the victims.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Presidential spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung relayed that President Yoon tasked Interior Minister Lee Sang-min and the chief of fire authorities with ensuring that all possible measures are taken to rescue and treat those affected by the incident, which occurred near Seoul City Hall at around 9:27 p.m. The crash not only claimed nine lives but also left four others injured as a vehicle plowed into pedestrians at a busy intersection.
