Kim Ha-seong Hits Milestone 10th Home Run, Continues Seasonal Streak at Petco Park

SAN DIEGO — San Diego Padres infielder Kim Ha-seong achieved a personal and professional milestone by hitting his 10th home run of the season during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Petco Park on Saturday, marking his third consecutive season with double-digit home runs.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim's solo home run came in the bottom of the fourth inning off Brewers' pitcher Carlos Rodriguez, sending an 83.2-mph slider sailing 374 feet into the left-field seats at a launch speed of 97.5 mph. This achievement places Kim as the second South Korean player in major league baseball to consistently hit at least 10 home runs over three consecutive seasons, joining the ranks of Choo Shin-soo. With this home run, Kim's career total reaches 46, tying him for third place among South Korean players in the majors with former Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kang Jung-ho.

In his performance on Saturday, Kim also recorded a single in the seventh inning, contributing to a 2-for-3 day at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI, boosting his season averages to a .220 batting average and a .721 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS). This home run was Kim's first since June 8, highlighting a solid performance in June where he has maintained a .231 batting average and an .800 OPS.

The Padres capitalized on Kim's contribution, extending their winning streak to four games with a 6-4 victory over the Brewers.
